New private residential block marketed as Hendon Waterside, formerly West Hendon Estate, where council tenants and leaseholders in 680 properties were moved out to make way for a 2000 home development by Barratts and Barnet Council, only 200 of which are social housing. Leaseholders had to sell at rock-bottom prices and only secure tenants have been rehoused on the estate.
