96 year-old Vivien Pixner suffers from age-related macular degeneration and can no longer read, or leave her flat without help. Through Age Concern Camden's Good Neighbours Scheme, volunteer Debbie Lythe, a secondary school teacher, visits once a week to accompany her to a local cafe and to read and discuss her chosen books. The scheme is threatened with closure following government cuts to Camden Council's funding.
