Castle Bruce Primary School received EC$10,000 of the "social premium" paid to the Dominica Fairtrade Organisation. The money generated by Fairtrade banana exports to the UK funded the purchase of desks and chairs, and made possible the end of a half-day shift system, allowing pupils to attend for the full school day.
