Elderly man in the new shopping precinct in Seaham, County Durham. Formerly known as Seaham Harbour, the town served as a port for the export of coal until the last local pit closed in 1992. The harbour now functions at a much reduced level, importing coal from Eastern Europe and elsewhere.
